Matariki Celebration

On Friday 24th of July Glen innes School celebrated Matariki. All of the students in school made things for Matariki. My classroom made a star with paper inside of it and we made a wishing star and inside the star we had to write our wish. 

Next we had to display our art for matariki. Our Teacher said we had to get in a group and take a black paper and write facts about matariki on a white paper and draw the seven sisters and a moon. My class  sang a song about matariki. The song we sang is all the seven sisters' names. It goes from youngest to the oldest and room 4 sang that song too.

Then all the classes had to go to the other classes but they didn’t go to the classRooms in order they mixed the classRooms names and the people who come to the class see there art work they made for matariki but some of the students put their artwork inside the hallway and some of the students didn’t put the artwork in the hallway they put in inside of there class and the students that has there artwork outside had to explain what the did to make there artwork.

After that all the classes had to go to the hall because we had to go for the hangi to eat the food that the cook islands made for everyone and their parents came too. 

Finally everyone had to play on the playground when they finished their food. When we had to line up we went to our classes and do our work that our teacher told us to do after that everyone had to go to the hall to see what the cupahaka group was dancing and singing and there were boys that were in the cupahaka group too. 

When school finished I felt happy because one of the cupahaka students was in my classRoom and I felt sad too because my parents didn’t come to the hangi and to see the cupahaka groups dance and sing.

(A Cold Morning).

On friday it was winter. Me and my sisters were late. It took a long time then when we made it to school. And the flowers were frost. It was freezing outside but my sister was staying home because she didn’t want to come to school because it was very cold and my sister jessie doesn't like wearing jumpers to school. I didn’t want to come to school because my hands were freezing. When my little sister came to drop me and my other sister wanted to go school because she wasn't cold and she wanted to wear mufti to school. It was about three degrees cold outside and then the sun came out and it was warm.

(A scary Night)

On Tuesday night a boy went to get some bread for himself and his mother while he was walking he heard someone scream. Then he walked to where he heard that scream. When he was walking that scream led him to his house and he saw nothing but he still wanted to know where that scream came from and then the boy heard a ghost say (BOO). Then he heard that scream again and that scream was much louder then the other scream so he ran to the closet because he heard that scream coming from the closet. Then when he opened the door of the closet he saw a ghost about to eat his mother then he screamed HELP!!!!!!. And then he grabbed the phone and called the police. When he finished calling the police he grabbed the knife and stabbed the ghost but there was one last ghost. Then the ghost was going to eat the boy's mum but the boy got a flash light because he did some research about ghosts and it said about ghosts when ghosts see light they disappear and why the boy did some research is because he had to make a scary story. Then the ghost was nearly going to eat the boy's mother. The boy turned on the flash light. The ghost disappeared so the boy saved the mother.
